It's definately not a Christmas card!!!

Yay, second card in a row that's not Christmas (is it just me being Bah - Humbug?? but I'm getting a little tired of making Christmas things). I spotted these beautiful butterflies over at Dragons Lair Designs and thought I'd have a little play with them.

The easel base was made using my nesties. I printed the butterflies onto heavy weight paper, cut them out and then gave them a spritz of Glimmer Mist. When they were completely dry I shaped the wings to give them some dimension. The vines were printed onto card and then cut out and given shape and dimension with an embossing tool. The flower was die cut and then spritzed with Maya Road Shimmer Mist (wow that stuff is messy!!) and finished with a pearl brad.

To soften the feel of the card and pull everything together, the edges of the card and calendar were inked with Distress Inks.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Artful Inkables - Die cuts/Punches
A Crafty Little Place - Anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown - Embellish it
Karber Weekly - Sparkle
Little Papershop - Funky Edge
The Shabby Tea Room - Get in shape

  5. Beautiful. It reminds me of my Great Grandmothers house...When the light shined in on the sheer blue curtains, the air would be filled with that blue-ish color...SO calming. I'll never forget it! Good luck in the WoodwareUSA challenge.
