It's loaded with detail, so apologies for the picture overload.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE3K65VfqKD96idegyCuHif_tll74Rrz6nIip48G67hVK31WjQmEANzh_ZH3AB-GrdpLGpevsosJLB0u4rkJiMTrQ41_-Lnorfrq6jeO5gUnQbmAIBbZ2Ia57-3ziTc7Mq7JrGwthF70F2/s1600/20180211_151925.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE3K65VfqKD96idegyCuHif_tll74Rrz6nIip48G67hVK31WjQmEANzh_ZH3AB-GrdpLGpevsosJLB0u4rkJiMTrQ41_-Lnorfrq6jeO5gUnQbmAIBbZ2Ia57-3ziTc7Mq7JrGwthF70F2/s400/20180211_151925.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I know that there are several versions of this type of lantern knocking around the internet. However, mine is super quick and super simple and avoids all that faffing around with glue and tissue paper. It also avoids the hit and miss painting on glass process!<br />

Don't worry I'm sure I won't keep this up.<br />

<br />
I'm sharing a little project that I created over the weekend. As many of you know I rarely get any me time, so when I do I try to do something that is just for me. When I spotted that Hobbycraft were doing their 12 Makes of Christmas Workshops and one of them fell on my free weekend I decided to pop along and take part. This was the end result.<br />
<br />
Hobbycraft supplied the papier mache bust and the deco-mache papers. I added the floral embellishments from my own stash at home.<br />

It's one of those cards that look really complicated but is super easy once you know how. I've used a pre-printed card base to save time with matting and layering, plus I really like the paper designs on the cardstock.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I've decided that I'm going to make a few of these to mail out to friends and family this Christmas. The card folds flat and should send as a standard letter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMRZRm6z9nASRn13QVYj_2PBaD2lCKByOoiemRZjRFciAH7878b-688IGRYZNJbND7GUekTpniXMZruNTxu5BsYUnxoRkzQwYg3HKNZmdhJINEBcEkLs-QxeQAuDI5quqdl2cCnJsJV3D_/s1600/20181012_155759.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMRZRm6z9nASRn13QVYj_2PBaD2lCKByOoiemRZjRFciAH7878b-688IGRYZNJbND7GUekTpniXMZruNTxu5BsYUnxoRkzQwYg3HKNZmdhJINEBcEkLs-QxeQAuDI5quqdl2cCnJsJV3D_/s400/20181012_155759.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<b>Instructions</b><br />
<ol>
<li>Lay the card flat with the white side showing.</li>
<li>Fold the right edge of the card to the centre crease and then unfold.</li>
<li>Take the top left corner and fold to the centre line.</li>
<li>Repeat the above but with the bottom left corner.</li>
<li>Push the centre fold in the triangle creases towards the middle, it should cause the remaining fold lines to crease.</li>
<li>Lightly mark the top edge of the card at 3" and trim diagonally to the outer edge. See the diagram below. Repeat on the other side. Keep both of the waste triangles.</li>
<li>Use the waste triangles as template to create two miiri board triangles.</li>
<li>Glue the two patterned triangles to the base of the card, trim any excess as necessary.</li>
<li>Adhere the spring part of the card to the base and attach the mirri board panels as shown.</li>
<li>Decorate the card with the stickers, sentiment and image.</li>

<br />
I recently demoed this shaped bauble card at Clarkes of Sussex - The Art Shop in Brighton. Since the picture went up on Facebook and Instagram, I've had several requests asking how I did it. Rather than responding individually, I thought it would be easier to do a tutorial. Sadly I haven't had time to do a step by step photographic one, but as it's a pretty easy card to make I think the instructions will be pretty easy to follow. If not then please message me and I'll try and sort out a photo step by step.<br />
<br />
Anyway enough of my chit chat, let's get going!<br />
<br />

<br />
1. Die-cut the bauble from silver Mirri card.<br />
<br />
2. Using Anita's Tacky Glue, adhere the bauble to a sheet of the blue patterned paper from the Ultimate paper pack. Carefully trim around the bauble.<br />
<br />
3. Apply glue to the reverse of the bauble. Place the bauble at a slight angle so that it slightly overhangs the spine of the card and sits flush with the base of the card. Trim around the bauble. If the card doesn't stand properly, then trim a small amount from the bottom to create a flat base.<br />
<br />
4. Create a bow from the ribbon and adhere to the top of the bauble.<br />
<br />
5. Pop out the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Ultimate Kit and mount it onto blue cardstock using foam pads. Adhere to the card.<br />
<br />
6. Place the decoupaged Gorjuss Girl centrally onto the card.<br />
<br />
7. Remove the red stones from poinsettias and then use the Pitt Pen to change the colour of the flowers. Place iridescent stones in the centre of the flowers. Attach to the bauble as shown.<br />
<br />
8. To finish add stones to the centres of the floral designs on the bauble.<br />
<br />
If you do recreate this card, or if I've inspired you please feel free to share your work with me.<br />

As many of you know I like to get maximum value for money from my purchases and rarely just use a die or stamp just as it is. As I was working with this set I noticed that the dies would lend themselves perfectly to a few other characters, and thought it was a perfect opportunity to show others how easy it was to do this.<br />
<br />
I'm really pleased with how this mermaid card turned out. Can you guess which dies sets I've used to create this little scene?<br />

I just love this design of card as it has a relatively large base that gives stability so you can add loads of embellishments and details.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I used the beautiful <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/craft-store/paper-packs-pads/" target="_blank">Enchanting tones and Itsy Ditsy Paper Pads</a>. As you can see I went a little mad with those awesome stitched cloud dies.<br />

For me the best part about this card is the fact it folds completely flat for posting!<br />

I recently made a selection of cards for Die Cutting Essentials Magazine using the amazing Winnie Dies from Polkadoodles.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPLKNTyAxgbZciyuAeEx4_TrCmlrul2qYRq-lNdiaZLyoWqz4XzONmT7EGwRtRYe7j3Qm6LicUtmLsli6Vs3w64cKL-d5Wdcv0JoiTUtpIkQKkzsrhHQa3qKKA6pXJz9pZmgPuTcAJ4YZD/s1600/20180122_100902.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPLKNTyAxgbZciyuAeEx4_TrCmlrul2qYRq-lNdiaZLyoWqz4XzONmT7EGwRtRYe7j3Qm6LicUtmLsli6Vs3w64cKL-d5Wdcv0JoiTUtpIkQKkzsrhHQa3qKKA6pXJz9pZmgPuTcAJ4YZD/s320/20180122_100902.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The dies are designed in such a way that you can use them to create a rear view for the characters. in view of this, what better use of the cute Ballerina die than a spinner card?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Cute isn't she?<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back tomorrow with another card using the Winnie Dies. I hope you can join me?<br />

I'm truly shocked that I haven't posted since January!!! My intentions were all good for this year, but sadly I lost my Gran in January and then have been in hospital, so blogging sort of fell completely by the wayside!<br />
<br />
I'm glad to say that I've not been completely idle craftwise. Infact I've been super busy creating and demonstrating. Some of you may have spotted a couple of pieces of work I had published in Craft Stamper Magazine. Here's one of my projects using the <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/perfect-petals-clear-stamp-set-by-stampin-unicorn/" target="_blank">Perfect Petals stamp set</a> from Polkadoodles.<br />

Whilst I'm here I'll just give you the heads up that I'll be in Clarkes Stationers, Bond Street, Brighton on Saturday 28th April from 10am til 4pm demonstrating some fabulous goodies from docrafts. If you're passing please pop into say "hi" and see what I'm getting upto.</div>

I wanted to show you this super easy, super cute snowflake ornament made from clothes pegs. There are loads of tutorials out there for making them, so I won't bore you with the details, just Google Peg Snowflakes 😉<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRCbAls5tjMVI2812fqb6a6Rnr7mGqSxHfotJ9djmnkXddIhuknHvwHlaXLcICrjB9sQbbH3RXZrFFX7_q8yyMjQkZDUBoEKjZw187g0cbhmkYjiGPWmV2iQKYBKwHp2r8xvUlpbpfVYdT/s1600/IMG_20171210_111611_522.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRCbAls5tjMVI2812fqb6a6Rnr7mGqSxHfotJ9djmnkXddIhuknHvwHlaXLcICrjB9sQbbH3RXZrFFX7_q8yyMjQkZDUBoEKjZw187g0cbhmkYjiGPWmV2iQKYBKwHp2r8xvUlpbpfVYdT/s400/IMG_20171210_111611_522.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Anyhow, once I'd made the snowflake I gave it coat of Gesso and inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I found a long forgotten pot of Diamond Dust and so gave it a generous sprinkle of that, cos you can never have too much sparkle right?<br />
<br />
I then embellished it with the <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/craft-store/flowers-embellishments/flowers-blooms/" target="_blank">Frosted Fir Adornments and Winters Breath Embellishment Kit</a> from Polkadoodles.<br />
<br />
The NOEL was created by ME on my Brother Scan n Cut.... can you tell I'm super proud of myself 😂<br />
<br />
I'm undecided as to if this should hang or top my tree....<br />
<br />
Thanks for popping in today.<br />

<br />
Just whizzing in today to share a super quick and easy piece of home decor. This makes a perfect gift and you cost out the time vs materials it actually makes a good replacement as a card. You'll have to excuse the photos but the weather today is absolutely dire and I didn't have time to faff setting up a lightbox and getting the lighting right, so it's a quick snapshot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0Y0-WjbjzucLbBNJTEwrfmXQIlfwHD6fK6cZV2449FmIT01XIE-PYkyzNjffWG2FfiBoqIwDCeKFVq6p-SjHSWg-NQ0uptQh2qQHJAF5Ncp-nlLZg-TPIGb2WBF8RdcZS9ENgUqOXq4Co/s1600/20171207_121615.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0Y0-WjbjzucLbBNJTEwrfmXQIlfwHD6fK6cZV2449FmIT01XIE-PYkyzNjffWG2FfiBoqIwDCeKFVq6p-SjHSWg-NQ0uptQh2qQHJAF5Ncp-nlLZg-TPIGb2WBF8RdcZS9ENgUqOXq4Co/s400/20171207_121615.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Anyhow, I removed the back panel and glass from the frame. I then covered the back panel with some <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/itsy-ditsy-paper-pad-curated-by-stampin-unicorn/" target="_blank">gorgeous paper</a> from Stampin Unicorn and popped it securely back into the frame.<br />
<br />
Next I took some of the Moss from the <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/winters-breath-moss-pine-cone-cinnamon-embellishment-kit/" target="_blank">Winter's Breath Embellishment Kit</a> and used hot glue to secure it to the base. I then cut and arranged some of the gorgeous <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/craft-store/flowers-embellishments/flowers-blooms/" target="_blank">Frosted Fir Adornments, Glittered Large Branch and Conifer Spray</a> from Polkadoodles into the frame, allowing some of it to overlap the frame. Once I was happy with the layout I hot glued it into position and added fir cones, cinnamon sticks, a paper poinsettia and a cute little robin.<br />
<br />
To finish I added a glittered sentiment and some wooden snowflakes.<br />
<br />
I hope you like my project.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by.<br />

This started life as a docrafts Bare Basic box and a cereal box. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.<br />
<br />
I need to apologise in advance for the number of pictures but there's a lot of details that I want to show you.<br />
<br />
The first thing I did was to cut several strips of card from the cereal box. They were then painted with docrafts Gold Artiste Paint before attaching the "bars" to the box lid using Anita's Tacky Glue.<br />
<br />
Next I ran the gorgeous Fourni Papers through my die cutting machine with the LDRS Picnic Quilt embossing folders. Using my finger, I rubbed Faber-Castell Metallic Gelatos over the raised embossed areas. The box was then covered with the papers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2aOeQALuYVmYvpn8dISgHkvekPtCE-75YIP66J3eelmrmJIkBZB1hWYjWd_Wr64KA_Jy5Hzloc_vsoQdZ-JK-O5bvtlt7sz-HBEu5afHZhhdbcppDiY-LRzhZF8QT9aV75Ecl8G1eiLAm/s1600/20171101_085754.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1033" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2aOeQALuYVmYvpn8dISgHkvekPtCE-75YIP66J3eelmrmJIkBZB1hWYjWd_Wr64KA_Jy5Hzloc_vsoQdZ-JK-O5bvtlt7sz-HBEu5afHZhhdbcppDiY-LRzhZF8QT9aV75Ecl8G1eiLAm/s400/20171101_085754.jpg" width="257" /></a></div>
<br />
I then die cut several butterflies from the <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/stampin-unicorn/" target="_blank">Fourni papers</a> using the LDRS Dotted Wings Die Set and covered them with Stickles Glitter Glue. The hanging butterfly charm from the die set was attached in the roof of the cage.<br />

I used an old Spellbinders die to cut some foliage and coloured it with Distress Inks. Flowers from <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/pretty-paper-flowers-pack-by-stampin-unicorn/" target="_blank">here</a> were then arranged and adhered to the base and top of the cage.</div>

The little bird is sat on a nest of <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/teal-reindeer-moss-christmas-embellishments/" target="_blank">reindeer moss</a>. I've curled the stems of the flowers around a cocktail stick and then attached the butterflies to give them the appearance of flying.<br />

<br />
1. Create a 4" x 6" card blank.<br />
<br />
2. Trim a piece of the vintage aqua paper from the Enchanting Tones Paper Pack and a piece of the coordinating patterned paper from the Itsy Ditsy collection, leaving a narrow border on each layer.<br />
<br />
3. Place a piece of scrap paper about 1/3rd of the way up the card and then stamp a row of flowers and the daisy from the Daisy Friends stamp set. Colour with Prismacolor pencils.<br />
<br />
4. Attach a sentiment from the sentiment/topper grab bag onto the card using foam pads.<br />
<br />
5. Colour a wooden butterfly with pencils and add some glitter glue.<br />
<br />
6. Randomly place pearls around the large daisy.<br />

It's a little bit different for me but I really like the bright bold colours.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh10cBDMZNapDWmr_hI8rlf8WsTE98oZQGHF1YKOibDPwpinokb4iziqocRKEx3hytbW27ScNCJ1Kz9UZDjc6q75aUDUHQ1PumcchdsCXCqYJbEMrD4urvnYcLn2TrRL8Yev4a_Q_nRWArR/s1600/20171105_100259.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh10cBDMZNapDWmr_hI8rlf8WsTE98oZQGHF1YKOibDPwpinokb4iziqocRKEx3hytbW27ScNCJ1Kz9UZDjc6q75aUDUHQ1PumcchdsCXCqYJbEMrD4urvnYcLn2TrRL8Yev4a_Q_nRWArR/s400/20171105_100259.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I stamped the flower from the <a href="https://www.hochanda.com/ProductsListing-Brand/332/Stampin-Unicorn" target="_blank">Daisy Friends stamp set</a> onto card three times, cut it out and then coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils. The flower was then layered up using silicone glue.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6jC8MKSvvfDmwRJnVfvi1Tdr-CZ8RDFjNPBaR0ZGqqJ65r8DGF1wcuBUb3ENhG5A-vCBtcfltYkQhmavBx-ZbRzqSPoDjYSWKydZdOAp-Q4a2iR1u5FVr-sMJ9BovQTkD4VApybOLl8WA/s1600/20171105_100313.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6jC8MKSvvfDmwRJnVfvi1Tdr-CZ8RDFjNPBaR0ZGqqJ65r8DGF1wcuBUb3ENhG5A-vCBtcfltYkQhmavBx-ZbRzqSPoDjYSWKydZdOAp-Q4a2iR1u5FVr-sMJ9BovQTkD4VApybOLl8WA/s400/20171105_100313.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The easel card was created using the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/570547867/pierced-ovals-die-set?ref=related-7" target="_blank">LDRS Pierced Ovals set</a>. The dies contain a half oval which makes creating an easel card really easy. I used the gorgeous <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/stampin-unicorn/" target="_blank">Fourni and Wonderland Papers and one of the Sentiment/Toppers from the Grab Bag</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOPe7YJF5AcGLZQ42qqHZBLStGNhogqfPq-n42_rIFhmIw63q0QAaSDX_kZrhLDAwFNhAH9rtwwA3gVcKBzwZzduwKpVKmAi-60UxiilSh5cR51ZU89tzdJBROJVNLKvN0HPlewldGkyyz/s1600/20171105_100353.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOPe7YJF5AcGLZQ42qqHZBLStGNhogqfPq-n42_rIFhmIw63q0QAaSDX_kZrhLDAwFNhAH9rtwwA3gVcKBzwZzduwKpVKmAi-60UxiilSh5cR51ZU89tzdJBROJVNLKvN0HPlewldGkyyz/s400/20171105_100353.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
To finish I added some ribbon and wooden embellishments from the <a href="http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/stampin-unicorn/" target="_blank">Embellishment Pack</a>. The wooden shapes have been coloured with Prismacolor Pencils.<br />
<br />
I'll be back with more samples over the next few days.<br />
