Delicious Doodles Challenge #10 Spots or Stripes

No you're not going mad - I'm posting a Delicious Doodles Challenge two weeks in row! This week it would normally be team A's turn to play and post the challenge, but this week is slightly different in that we are all playing. The reason for the change is that this week we have a very special challenge which is being jointly sponsored by the lovely Paulette over at Create with TLC and Teri from Delicious Doodles. So this week there will be two prizes up for grabs.

I chose the fantastic "Wishes" set which I have to say is simply stunning and will I'm sure be appearing on a few more of my projects. The theme this week is Spots or Stripes. I've used the brand new image from Delicious Doodles "Mushroom Fairy" and taken the spots on the mushroom and the very feint stripes on the DP's to fit the theme. I hope you like my card.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers - Floral
The Crazy Challenge - Dots and Stripes
Karber Weekly - Dots and Stripes
Magical Mondays - Flowers
The Crafty Pad - Girly
Gingerloft Challenge - Things that fly

Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge - Glitz & Glamour

I can't believe that we are almost at the end of the month and that it's already time for another challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers. This fortnight the theme is Glitz and Glamour and boy have the DT gone to town, you should stop by and checkout their fantastic creations! Talking of DT's we're going to have a DT call very soon, full details will be posted on the Sweet Pea Stampers Blog, so make sure you keep an eye out for it. Also, don't forget our fantastic followers candy which closes on 31/1. Oh and I almost forgot the challenge prize this time is for a grab bag of Sweet Pea stamps supplied by the lovely Lynnette over at Sweet Pea Stamps.

Anyway, onto my card - it's kinda bold and bright so grab your sunnies and be prepared!

I've used ching-chou kuiks Fly Butterfly for this card. The image has been stamped onto white card and coloured with Promarkers and given a mix of Stickles for a bit of glitz. I made the image background from a piece of "Caught in Crystal" that had gone slightly wrong (the paper peeled away from the acetate and left me with a pliable film). The backing paper is a piece of caught in crystal acetate (unfortunately you can't see all the inclusions and pearlescent shimmers). I've added some die cut photo corners to finish.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Oldie but a Goodie - Fairies, Mermaids, Dragons or any other mythical beings
Passion for Promarkers - Let it shine
Kaboodle Doodles - Bling It Up
The Crafty Pad - Girly

Just Saying Hello

My mojo has been a bit off recently, so I decided to stick to using elements that appealed to me and do you know what for the first time in ages I pulled a card together without even thinking about it! I've made this card for a friend who I don't get see anywhere near enough who is having a rough time of things at the moment. Hopefully she'll realise that although I'm not physically with her, that my thoughts are very much focused on her.

I used my trusty nesties to create the card base and  associated layers from Bazzil card and My Minds Eye So Sophie. The sentiment is part of set from Hero Arts. I've stamped it in Sepia Versafine and then cut round the image and finished it with a dusting of Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. The butterflies have been punched using a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch , the ferns have beencut using a Little Claire's Fern Die and the flowers have been die cut using the Sizzix 3D Flower.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion - 2 Patterned Papers
Crafty Cardmakers - Floral
Woodware USA - Anything goes
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Clear as Mud
Digi Doodles Shops Best - Anything Goes
Paper Romance - Shaped Card
The Creative Cottage - Shaped Card

Delicious Doodles Challenge # Get Well/ Cheer 'Em Up Card

Morning folks, it's time for a new challenge over at Delicious Doodles and this week we want you to make a get well /cheer 'em up card. The lucky winner will receive 5 digital images of their choice from the Delicious Doodles shop. Don't forget, ANY images are acceptable, it doesn't have to be a Delicious Doodles one, but if you do happen to use one of our images, then you get TWO entries into the draw! Good luck and we'll look forward to seeing your creations.

Here's the card I made for your inspiration, I hope you like it!

The card base was die cut from white card using my new Sizzix Bird House Die.  I've covered the base with some wood effect papers from my Pad of Matters and then scored the plank effect with a Marth Stewart Scoreboard. To enhance the grooves I've rubbed Walnut Stain Distress Ink into them with a cotton bud. The images are Little Birdy and Bee & Flower from Delicious Doodles. They've been coloured with Promarkers and decoupaged. I've added Glossy Accents to the bird's beak and the centre of the flower. The bee's wings have been coated with Stardust Stickles. The sentiment is handwritten.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge - It's All White!!!

Welcome to the first Sweet Pea Stampers challenge of 2011. This time we want you to make a card or a project using all white with the exception of the image where you can use colours of your choice. As always we have a fantastic prize, this time its three sheets of decoupage from The Crafty Purple Frog. I really hope that you will join us and look forward to seeing your creations. Also, don't forget to check out the fantastic blog candy currently on offer.

When I first saw this challenge I kind of panicked! Not that I'm afraid of white space, far from it I love it, but Sweet Pea stamps and white space, post Christmas??? I don't think so!! However, I've had to eat my words and say that once I'd got over the initial shock of the challenge and started playing with ideas, that Sweet Pea stamps and lots of white is a fabulous combination! Don't believe me? Checkout what the other DT girls have done for this challenge - their projects are totally amazing!

I've used ching-chou kuik's Fairy of the Night for this card. The image has been stamped and heat embossed and then re-stamped, coloured with Promarkers, cut out and mounted onto the heat embossed image. I've then added plenty of sparkle with Stardust and Tumbled Glass Stickles.

The white cardstock has been embossed with my new Sizzix Texture Fades Burlap/Swirls  and Textured Impressions Winter embossing folders and the edges have been distressed with the Tim Holtz Distressing Tool. The flowers have been cut from the Sizzix Tattered Florals Die and then coated with glass particles (thanks to the lovely Kate of Downright Crafty for pointing me in the direction of this fab product) and secured with pearl brads from Kars.

Thanks for stopping by.

Spring is in the air - well almost

Just a quick card from me today as I've not had much time for crafting as it's been a bit of nightmare week. Firstly the cooker broke down and the engineer had to order the part - so still no cooker. Then we had problems with the plumbing, so all in all it's been an expensive and annoying week. I don't know about you, but when things like that happen it effects my mojo :(

Anyway, amidst all the disruption I managed to make this simple card. I used the new image Snowdrops from Delicious Doodles which I coloured with Promarkers and then die cut. I stamped the sentiment with the sentiments set from Ladybug Crafts Ink. I then inked the edges with Distress Inks. The card base was made using Large Scalloped Nestabilities.

Gotta use my scraps!

OK hands up who has bags and bags of scraps of paper that just might come in useful??? Oh come on I can't be the only one surely? I thought not! Well one of my resolutions is to start using up my scraps or if they've been in a bag for more than 6 weeks to bin them. Well I've made a start and made this card - the only new thing on it is the stamp.

OK it's definately not one of my best cards, but for one that took about 15 minutes to knock up and got rid of my scraps and then sold immediately I don't think it's too bad!

Delicious Doodles Challenge #7 It's All New To Me!!

Happy New Year folks!! A bit late I know, but I've been deprived of my craft space as apparently Christmas dinner and entertaining was more important than my crafting!!! As a result I have had nothing to show you. Anyway, today I do have something to show you cos it's challenge time over at Delicious Doodles! So what are we upto this week? Well it's a really nice and easy challenge - try something new. It can be a new technique or product, as long as it's new to you! So get out your new stash and come and play.

I've decided to try something totally new in everyway! I've made a necklace using the new image Wistful Fairy from Delicious Doodles  and my new memory frames and glass slides that my lovely friend bought me for Christmas. I've also tried a new technique (well new to me anyway) "Caught in Crystal", which I absolutely love! So expect to see this one in use again in the future. The only old thing about this project (well apart from the creator) is the black silk cord which I've had for ages. I have to apologise for the pictures - this project was a complete nightmare to photograph and to be honest really doesn't show the colours and sparkle off very well at all :(

The image was coloured with Promarkers and some sparkle was added with Sakura Gel Pens and Stickles. I created the background using the caught in crystal technique. The whole lot was then placed between two sheets of memory glass and into the frame. I added a length of black silk cord to finish.

Materials:
Image - Delicious Doodles
Acetate
Tissue Paper
Alcohol Inks
Crystal Glaze
Ranger Memory Frames
Ranger Memory Glass
Promarkers
Sakura Gel Pen
Stickles
Black Silk Cord

I'd like to enter this project into the following challenges:
Crafty Purple Frog - New
Creative Cottage - Something New
Bunny Zoe's - Sparkle & Shine
Woodware USA - Something New
Moving Along With The Times - Old/New
Sarah Hurley - New beginnings
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Anything goes
