We all have them, but for once it's not me, it's the cute little madam on my card! However, I have to say the dragged through a hedge backwards look that she was sporting has been greatly improved by me since I gave her a hair cut! It wasn't intentional, I'd just finished fussy cutting and then somehow manage to catch an ultra-fine piece of the image and rip it off! Naughty words weren't used - much!! I was going to re-do it, but as I'm running way behind schedule this week with everything that has been going on, I've taken a gamble that most people won't notice or will be far to polite to point my poor workmanship out - so I've left it.
Anyway, this week over at Sweet Pea Stampers we want to see your SCALLOPS. I really hope that you'll be joining us.
Now I don't normally do scallops as they are just that little bit too frilly for me, so this was a real challenge. I don't think I did too badly, but have to say that I'm tempted to totally re-work this card as it's not one of my favourites - not sure what the problem is but it just doesn't feel right - maybe it was that haircut!
The scalloped shaped card was cut using Large Nestabilities. As previously mentioned I used Bad Hair Day by Lisa Victoria from Sweet Pea Stamps. The image has been coloured with Promarkers and then decoupaged onto the digital designer paper from Fred She Said. The fairies dress has been covered with Clear Star Sakura Gel Pen to try and give a really sheer translucent look to the skirt. Her wings have been coated with a thin layer of Stardust Stickles. The toadstool has had a coat of Glossy Accents and Picket Fence Stickles. The butterflies are from my most favoured punch at the moment Martha Stewart 3 in 1 Butterfly Punch and the gems are from my stash. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.
I've added this second photo to try and show the sparkle and shimmer on her skirt and wings. If you click the image to enlarge it you can just about see it.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Card
This card was a complete rush job. My brother's wife's parents celebrated 50 years of marriage yesterday and I didn't feel that I could let it pass without some form of acknowledgement. I only found out yesterday morning when my SIL turned up out the blue on my doorstep (she lives quite a distance away) en-route to her parents house. I hope it doesn't look too rushed (I would've loved to have done something a little more detailed, but time was against me).
I've used my nesties to create the easel card, I've then embossed the pearlescent card and swiped it over with a gold ink pad. I've stamped the duo of birds and heat embossed them and then punched out the heart. The flower was made using my trusty 3D flower die, I did it a little differently this time and left room for a centre. Unfortunately, I've had to use peel offs for the sentiment (shhhh don't tell anyone) as my handwriting today was awful, I didn't have a suitable stamp and I couldn't get a digi stamp to print in gold and the card I was using didn't want to know about heat embossing the digi either!

Silhouette Fairy Easel
It's my niece's birthday in a couple of weeks and she's still secretly mad about fairies. She'll be 14, and worries that her friends will tease her, so keeps her obsession a deep dark secret. I'm hoping that this card will convince her that fairies are for big girls too!!
The easel card was cut using my new Nestie's Labels 8. I then used Distress Inks to make the background and used the digital masking technique to place the digital stamp (kindly given to me by Stitchy Bear Stamps, available here) onto the card. I've added some dimensional glitter glue the tips of the fairy's wings. The leaves and flowers have been punched from black paper.

Nestabilities Easel Card
I got my new Nestabilites this week from Oyster Stamps and very impressed I am too! I also got a copy of Craft Stamper Magazine - so, put the two together and what do you get? A gorgeous shaped easel card that's what!
I've been meaning to make a shaped easel card for sometime (I spotted a tutorial on Crafty Cardmakers a while ago, but just hadn't got round to making one) so when I read an article in the magazine which used Nesties to create the cards, I just knew that I had to make one!
I'm amazed at how quick and easy the card bases were to make. The only problem is I now NEED to buy some more Nesties - LOL!
Black Card - The Papermill
Black Velvet Adhesive Paper - Papermainia
Bigshot & Large Scalloped Circle Nestabilites
Butterflies - Stamped with Versamark, heat embossed and then painted with pearlescent watercolour paints, mounted with black foam dots
Gold swirl trails - Shneider Gold Paintmarker

As the shape of the cardbase is so pretty I've decided to try and keep the design quite simple, I hope it's worked!
