It's a quick post from me today as I've been working all this week and will be at work when this post publishes :(
I've made a little box frame for this weeks challenge over at Polka Doodles which is Cabin Fever, so we want to see loads of Summery cards and and projects. The prize is a brand new Candy Doodles Collectors Edition CD. Anyhow, it's stash box stamp week which meant that I got to play with one of my gorgeous uninked stamps, so here's my offering for this weeks challenge, a box frame made entirley from paper/card. I hope you like it, cos I think you'll be seeing a few more of these! :D
Oh and before I forget don't forget to pre-order your copy of The Pen & Paper Circle Kit. This edition has a really gorgeous A6 set of stamps and a cd containing 54 backing papers and coordinating png alphabets and if that wasn't enough there's a magazine with 12 step by step tutorials, hints, tips & inspiration. Remember, you only have until the 7th March to order.

Exploding Box - My Last Polka Doodles Sample
Good morning. Yes it's me again, this getting quite a habit!!! Don't worry sporadic posting will resume again shortly! ;D
I just thought I'd show you my final sample that I did for the Polka Doodles Create & Craft Show at the weekend. It is of course an exploding box.
When I received the Candy Doodles CD I had a quick flick through it for inspiration and almost instantly found the little birdhouse template and the butterflies. Now those of you have followed me for any length of time know what a sucker I am for birdhouses and butterflies, so I just knew that I had to make something with it. My only problem was what to do as I had way too many ideas running around in my poor little head!
In the end I decided that as time was relatively short that I'd stick to something I knew, but play with the template. This is what I ended up with.
Cute or what? And so much fun to make! Which is a good job really as my poor daughter attempted to claim it and was gutted when I told her she couldn't have it, so guess who's gotta make another one?

Don't forget!!!!
Oh get me posting on a Saturday!! Bet you're all wondering what the occasion is?? Well I just thought I'd give you all the heads up for tomorrow (Sunday19th February) at 9am and 2pm when Nikky Hall from Polka Doodles will be on Create & Craft launching her new CD. I'm sure you're all going to love it - I know I do!! I was lucky enough to get to use it to make a couple of samples for the show and I'll be honest if I hadn't had such a mare of a week, I'd have happily made loads of samples as there is just so many gorgeous papers, images and templates, I had inspiration overload!!!
Anyway, if you fancy a peek of what I did, pop back here over the next few days and I'll blog my samples.
Oh and I almost forgot - the second edition of The Pen & Paper Circle has gone on sale this week too! The first edition was a complete sell out and it's looking like this one will be too, so if you want to grab a copy do it now, cos once it's gone, it's gone.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a fab weekend.

Rosalee Pretty In Pink - Delicious Doodles Challenge
TGIF - not often I say that, but this week has been one of those weeks and I will be glad to see the back of it! I'm not normally a stress head, but this week has pushed me to my limits, it's probably not been helped by the fact that the kids have been on holiday and I seem to have managed to acquire additional children who have made themselves well and truly at home! Grandparents who have been unwell again and needed taking to Dr's appointments etc...The one highlight of the week was celebrating my Dad's 70th birthday, but to be honest I was so shattered that I ended up coming home early. Oh and I almost forgot to mention I've gone back to work part time to finance the building work that we need doing to enable me to have a craft room - see hogging the dining room has finally paid off!! ;).
Anyway, enough of my moaning, lets move onto this weeks challenge over at Delicious Doodles which is Pretty in Pink! Seriously who ever picked this must have been having a giggle! As you probably know most of the girls just don't do pink, so I'm amazed that so many of them have turned out for this challenge! Why not pop over the to the challenge blog and take a peep at the lovely projects they've produced.
I haven't really made anything really pretty in a while, so I thought I'd use this challenge as opportunity to do so! I had so much fun with this card and have been trying some new colouring techniques out (they're not quite perfect, but I'm going to persevere), so what do you think?
I coloured the image Rosalee with Promarkers and then used a glitter pen to add a little sparkle to her dress. The image was then aged with Distress Ink and faux stitching added with a pokey tool and fineliner. I lightly distressed the edges of the papers using my nail and then inked them before adding more faux stitching. The postage stamp sentiment was stamped in Vintage Sepia Versafine Ink and then inked with Distress Inks.
Materials:
Rosalee - Delicious Doodles
Promarkers
Brown Fine Liner
Distress Ink - Tea Dye
Nellie's Multi Frame's
Whimsy Postage Stamp Die

Seam Binding - Crafty Ribbons
Buttons - Woodware
Pearl Spray - Stash
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafts & Me - Distressed
Gingersnap Creations - Faux Technique
Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything goes
Passion for Promarkers - Distressing
The Stamping Boutique - Faux Stitching
Love to Create - Buttons & Bows
My Craft Spot - Girly Girls

Full of Love! Polka Doodles Valentines Challenge
Good morning to you all. I'm here today with my very first official DT card for Polka Doodles. It's a nice easy one this week (well for some of us!) as it's Quick & Easy Valentine Cards. I thought I'd struggle with this one a bit as quick is not in my name or nature when it comes to card making as a rule, but this time I managed a quick and easy card. Yay go me!!!
What do you think??? I think it actually looks quite presentable for a card that took less than 30 minutes (excluding drying time of course)! My son loves it and has nabbed it for his girlfriend (true love at the age of 10!).
I used the Polka Doodles coloured and black/white images from the Sundae of Seasons CD and my graphics programme make the jar full of heart buttons and the heart button embellishment. Once I'd printed out the jar, I decided that it needed a bit of dimension, so popped the card back through the printer and printed out a couple more images. Now if I hadn't done this it would've saved time but tbh it only takes five minutes to cut out the images and I think it was worth the extra time as the jar really pops from the paper.
I ran an embossing tool around the edge of the jar and the other layers and then mounted them onto the card base using silicone glue. Once this was dry I added some Stickles and Glossy Accents to enhance both the jar and hearts. I made the heart button using the same hearts as the jar is full of, but used my pokey tool to make holes before adding some Glossy Accents and black embroidery thread. To finish I matted and layered some pink and card and then added some doodling.
Oh and the sentiment inside the card reads "For you Valentine"
I really hope that you'll join us this week, I'd love to see what you create.
Thanks for stopping by.

How Excited Am I????
Sorry this post is late, but blogger has been playing up again and wouldn't allow me to upload any photos and then seemed to swallow my post! I've found that by switching browsers (yet again) that I can now post! Anyway onto my news :D
Do you remember a while ago I did a GDT spot for Polka Doodles? Well you can imagine how shocked but truly delighted I was to receive an email out of the blue from the lovely Nikky Hall from Polka Doodles asking me if I'd like to be a permanent DT member!!! Of course I thought about it for ages before accepting (all of about two seconds) and then thought maybe it was a wind up!! But nope, twas a genuine offer and so I'm now thrilled to be able to tell you that I'm a permanent member of the Polkadoodles DT.
I also promised on Friday to show you a project of some kind. Now it's a little different to what I normally make as I've used a template and pre-coloured images.
This card is for my lovely friend who has been seriously poorly for a very longtime who I thought deserved a really special card. As always I'm chasing my own tail and I really didn't have time to spend designing a card from scratch, I thought that this would be an ideal card to trial. I have to say I'll definitely be doing this again and will also be adapting the template and idea to create other cards - so as far as I'm concerned it's a complete winner.
Materials:
Polka Doodles - Paper Boutique III
Stickles - Stardust
Silicone Glue
Foam Stamping Mat
Embossing Tool
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - Anything Goes
Hotshot Crafts - Flowers
DYSU - Anything Goes
