Well I'm setting some sort of record this month, yet another post from me! Don't worry I'm sure I won't keep this up.

I'm sharing a little project that I created over the weekend. As many of you know I rarely get any me time, so when I do I try to do something that is just for me. When I spotted that Hobbycraft were doing their 12 Makes of Christmas Workshops and one of them fell on my free weekend I decided to pop along and take part. This was the end result.

Hobbycraft supplied the papier mache bust and the deco-mache papers. I added the floral embellishments from my own stash at home.

It's a Gorjuss Christmas - Shaped Bauble Card

I recently demoed this shaped bauble card at Clarkes of Sussex -  The Art Shop in Brighton. Since the picture went up on Facebook and Instagram, I've had several requests asking how I did it. Rather than responding individually, I thought it would be easier to do a tutorial. Sadly I haven't had time to do a step by step photographic one, but as it's a pretty easy card to make I think the instructions will be pretty easy to follow. If not then please message me and I'll try and sort out a photo step by step.

Anyway enough of my chit chat, let's get going!

To create this project you will need:
X-cut Large Ornate Bauble Die (XCU 503957)
Santoro Gorjuss A4 Ultimate Die-Cut & Paper Pack (GOR160902)
Santoro Gorjuss Tag Kit (GOR171900)
Santoro Gorjuss Ribbon (GOR367900)
docrafts Create Christmas Poinsettias (PMA359906)
docrafts Create Christmas Iridescent Stones (PMA351906)
docrafts Mirri Board (ANT1641002)
13.5cm Square Card Blank (ANT1512020)
Faber Castell Metallic Blue Pitt Pen
Anita's Tacky Glue
docrafts Stick It Foam Pads

1. Die-cut the bauble from silver Mirri card.

2. Using Anita's Tacky Glue, adhere the bauble to a sheet of the blue patterned paper from the Ultimate paper pack. Carefully trim around the bauble.

3. Apply glue to the reverse of the bauble. Place the bauble at a slight angle so that it slightly overhangs the spine of the card and sits flush with the base of the card. Trim around the bauble. If the card doesn't stand properly, then trim a small amount from the bottom to create a flat base.

4. Create a bow from the ribbon and adhere to the top of the bauble.

5. Pop out the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Ultimate Kit and mount it onto blue cardstock using foam pads. Adhere to the card.

6. Place the decoupaged Gorjuss Girl centrally onto the card.

7. Remove the red stones from poinsettias and then use the Pitt Pen to change the colour of the flowers. Place iridescent stones in the centre of the flowers. Attach to the bauble as shown.

8. To finish add stones to the centres of the floral designs on the bauble.

Snowflake Peg Ornament

Just a quickie from me today. I wanted to show you this super easy, super cute snowflake ornament made from clothes pegs. There are loads of tutorials out there for making them, so I won't bore you with the details, just Google Peg Snowflakes 😉

Anyhow, once I'd made the snowflake I gave it coat of Gesso and inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I found a long forgotten pot of Diamond Dust and so gave it a generous sprinkle of that, cos you can never have too much sparkle right?

I then embellished it with the Frosted Fir Adornments and Winters Breath Embellishment Kit from Polkadoodles.

The NOEL was created by ME on my Brother Scan n Cut.... can you tell I'm super proud of myself 😂

I'm undecided as to if this should hang or top my tree....

Quick and Easy Christmas Shadow Box

Just whizzing in today to share a super quick and easy piece of home decor. This makes a perfect gift and you cost out the time vs materials it actually makes a good replacement as a card. You'll have to excuse the photos but the weather today is absolutely dire and I didn't have time to faff setting up a lightbox and getting the lighting right, so it's a quick snapshot.

Anyhow, I removed the back panel and glass from the frame. I then covered the back panel with some gorgeous paper from Stampin Unicorn and popped it securely back into the frame.

Next I took some of the Moss from the Winter's Breath Embellishment Kit and used hot glue to secure it to the base. I then cut and arranged some of the gorgeous Frosted Fir Adornments, Glittered Large Branch and Conifer Spray  from Polkadoodles into the frame, allowing some of it to overlap the frame. Once I was happy with the layout I hot glued it into position and added fir cones, cinnamon sticks, a paper poinsettia and a cute little robin.

To finish I added a glittered sentiment and some wooden snowflakes.

Winnie in Winterland Snowglobe

Hi. I just thought I'd stop by today and show you this snow globe I created using the gorgeous Winnie in Winterland from Polkadoodles.

I've wanted to make a giant snow globe for ages, but have been waiting for the right image to come along. When I spotted this cute little image I just knew she'd be perfect.

If you want recreate this project, I've listed the materials at the end of this post. Below you will find a brief step by step of how it was created. If you do make your own globe or use my project as inspiration to create your own, please link back here so I can pop over to see your work.

1. Gather your supplies.

2. Die-cut the lamp post and railings from a cereal box or chipboard. I used a cereal box and glued five die-cuts together to create a sturdy piece that didn't bend or flex easily. Paint with acrylic paint. Cut a panel from vellum to create the lamp glass and glue in position. Once the paint is dry, add "snow" using modelling paste and glitter. Set aside.

3. Take a square of wet florist foam and cut it to fit comfortably inside of the neck of the bowl. Using a sharp knife, carve snow drifts into the foam. Once you are happy with the drifts, cover the foam in layer or two of Craft Planet PVA Glue and white kitchen towel. Set aside to dry thoroughly.

4. Using hot glue adhere a large marble to the centre of the jam jar lid. Cover with a layer of gesso and then acrylic paint. Once dry, glue a length of lace and some string pearls to the edge.

5. Cover the base board of the globe with patterned paper and trim with string pearls.

6. Resize Winnie  and a sentiment in your computer programme. If you are unsure of how to do this pop over to the Polkadoodles store where Nikky has a some instructions. Print out and then fussy cut the images. Add cocktail sticks to the bottom of Winnie and the lamppost (these are used to secure here into the base).

7. Paint the foam base with acrylic paint and whilst wet add a mix of faux snow and glitter. Once dry double check that bowl fits snuggly over the landscape base and then glue the landscape onto the base. Arrange the die cuts, tree and image as desired. If you are adding lights you will need to poke a hole through both bases and pass the lights up through. Arrange the lights on the tree and at the back of the lamppost.

8. Once you are happy with your arrangement, glue the globe into position. Add the jar lid.

9. Arrange a mixture of foliage and flowers to finish. I added some paper pine cones using Flowers 1 & 2 die sets (see this how to I did a while back).

Ho Ho Ho...... Thank goodness for Tim Holtz and Sizzix!!!

I know I said I be back a few weeks ago...... whistles.... but you know life it just keeps happening and whoosh before you know it weeks have gone by!

Anyway, I'm seriously behind with my Christmas preparations and needed some super speedy makes. Rummaging through my unopened stash I came across a stamp and die set from Tim Holtz/Sizzix. So I opened them up and set to work.... wow is all I have to say! I don't think I've ever made so many cards in such a short space of time.

I even managed to make matching envelopes. :)

I've not quite finished making cards yet.... so I've opened another set of dies and stamps and am all set to create a few more cards. Hopefully, I'll be back with these within the next couple of days.

Whilst I'm here I'll also give you the heads up for Friday 16/12 at 11 am when the fabulous Nikky Hall from Polkadoodles will be on Create and Craft TV with a brand new launch of Papers (yes I said PAPERS!!!), Dies and a new CD. Seriously, having been lucky enough to make up some samples with the new kit, you do not want to miss out, they are lush! Docrafts Pop Up Box Christmas Parcel Card

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend? I had a really quiet weekend and managed to sneak in a bit of crafty me time. I can't show you what I've been making yet, so thought I'd share one of my recent Docrafts Demo pieces.

This was a really quick and easy card using a Goody Bag, decorative tape, die cut felt shapes and some acetate.

To make, I simply trimmed approximately 1cm off of the edge of a glitter card blank. I then scored the card on the opposite by an equal amount. Keeping the scored edge folded, the edges were then folded to the centre before cutting the card in half on the long edge. Finally I added some staging upon which to mount the embellishments.

I think this makes a really quick and easy show stopper of a card. The best bit is you can make three of these from one goody bag and still have loads of stash left to create with.

PolkaDoodles Octavia Frosted Winter Christmas Cushion

Have you seen the latest launch from PolkaDoodles? It's an absolutely stunning collection and available as a download or on CD. I was lucky enough to be asked to make samples for the Create and Craft show, sadly I only had time to complete this project. I do however, have at least four UFO's sitting on my dining room table!

Now, I'll be honest I'm not a sewer but do have a love of fabric and textiles. I've had this idea floating around in my head for an absolute age and as soon as I spotted some of the lush papers in the collection I knew that it was time to try and make it a reality. I will have a full tutorial on my blog tomorrow showing you exactly how I made the cushion, in the meantime here's a brief description.

I printed the digital papers and images onto a piece of A3 fabric. Before attempting to cut out the images and embellishments I ironed Bonda-Web.

Next I decided that I wanted to add some texture and dimension to the cushion so I tried to print directly onto felt..... epic fail! Not to be deterred I decided to try printing onto t-shirt transfer paper and iron that onto the felt. I think it worked pretty well despite the fact that it changed the colours significantly (just to give you an idea of how much the colour changed, the flowers should be the same red as the "25")

Once I'd printed and cut out all of the elements I set about assembling the cushion. Now this is where I panicked... it all sounded really easy in my head but there was one small problem... I'm not an experienced sewer and there were sooooo many elements to this project that it completely overwhelmed me! I put it to oneside intending for it to stay as a UFO but then I thought I've spent so much time effort that it's stupid not to finish it. So with that I removed the backing from the Bonda-web and ironed and stitched my pieces into place!

I don't think I'm too unhappy with the end result - it's far from perfect but for an experiment and first attempt it's come out OK. There are things I'd do differently and definitely things that I'd be aware of (like making sure you cut the fabric with the weave going the same way) but hey it's been a good learning curve.

You'll be pleased to know that this is the last of my samples from Friday's show! It was another super quick and easy make and I will be remaking this one for a few friends who love Gingerbread Men!

Everything other than the doily, buttons, string and red striped ribbon is from the collection (even those cute little candy canes which have been given a 3D effect simply by adding some Glossy Accents).

Today I'd like to show you the final card that I have created from the canvas shown in this blog post. This really couldn't be any easier or quicker to make as I've simply printed out the scanned image, matted it onto some card and chucked on a bit of glitter and Glossy Accents.

Picnix Nordic Christmas, Take One Make Three - Part Two. An Acetate Card

Good morning. I'm back again as promised with one of the projects that I made using the Canvas from this post. Sorry for the pictures in this post but acetate is a complete nightmare to photograph!

As I said previously I scanned the canvas into my computer and simply printed it out to create more projects. This curved front acetate card literally took twenty minutes to create and yet looks like you've put loads of effort into into it.

Take One Make Three Using PolkaDoodles Picnix Collection 3

You're probably wondering what I'm babbling on about huh? Well Friday saw the launch of the fantastic Picnix 3 Collection from PolkaDoodles and I loved it so much that I felt inspired to make a few samples but as always seems to be the way with me at the moment I didn't have a lot time to play. So I decided to cheat a little and made one piece of art which then produced a further three projects. I'll show you these over the next couple of days.

The piece of art in question is a mixed media canvas using one of the stunning backing papers from the collection, some modelling paste and acrylic paints. Once I was happy with my background I printed the robin image from the CD onto some tissue paper and coloured it with Prisma Pencils before adding it to the canvas.

I then scanned the canvas into the computer and use it to create the previously mentioned projects (before you do this please check with the original artist that they are happy for you to do this - the majority are, provided you meet and agree to certain conditions). I was amazed at how well it scanned and re-printed and the best part is it'll be there for me whenever I need quick make!

As is always the way when you leave a piece and come back to it, I decided that it needed something more. So I chucked a bit of Frantage over it and stamped and heat embossed some snowflakes.

Cooeeee... only me! Blimey I hadn't realised how long it ago it was that I blogged! Sorry about that - I am trying to get life more sorted so that I can create and blog regularly, but life keeps putting obstacles in my way! That said I'll be blogging a few makes over the coming days, so for those of you who are interested keep your eyes peeled.

So who caught this morning's PolkaDoodles show on Create Craft TV? Well if didn't, you missed a cracking show! I was lucky enough to get to make some samples for it using the new Twiggy & Toots Festive Fun Collection and the Picnix 3 Nordic Winter Collection.

This is one of the samples that I made using papers and images from the new Twiggy & Toots Festive Fun Collection which is available as a digital download or CD).

This project didn't turn out quite as I envisioned it and as I was tight on time there was nothing I could do with it other than crack on and get it completed. I hope you like it.
