Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer....

That's it sing along!!!! As you may have guessed this weeks challenge over at Polka Doodles is "Inspired By A Song". Remember to enter you don't need to use a Polka Doodles product.

I'll be honest I almost didn't make this weeks challenge as I've been really busy with stuff going on at home and had completely forgotten it was challenge week. So this is a fairly quick and easy card!

I used the Here Come Christmas CD for the papers and image. Rudolph has been covered with flock, glittered and Glossy Accented. The wreath was created using a Sizzix Holly Die and the Snowflakes have been snipped from my new Memory Box Frostyville Border Die.

That's it from me today. I hope you all have a fab weekend.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Building Igloo's!!

It's time for another challenge over at Polka Doodles and this week we want to see a bird on your creation. As you've probably noticed I'm in full Christmas mode at the moment and when I spotted this adorable little penguin on the Here Comes Christmas CD I knew I had to find a project to use him/her in. As luck would have it Emma Canning also released some Chrimbo cuties and I thought that Snow Race would fit perfectly on the card I had in mind! The only thing was I couldn't find an Igloo digi, so I thought I'd make my own - I have to say I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. What do you think?

The card base is of course a simple stepper card. I roughly sketched the igloo onto white card and then cut out each individual ice block. To give an icy look to the blocks I edged them with Distress Ink and Stickles before gluing them onto place on the back step of the card. I then tore several strips of white card to create the snow banks and again edged them with DI's and Stickles.

All of the images have been coloured with Promarkers and accents added with Sakura Glitter Pens and a Sakura Glaze Pen (I cannot recommend these pens highly enough). They've then been mounted onto the card using foam pads. The sentiment comes from the Here Comes Christmas CD and has been die cut with my Oval Nesties. To finish I added some fabric snowflakes that I found in the pound store and then glued some blue gemstones into the centres.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. We've got a friends birthday party to attend, so I have a feeling that I may have sore head come Sunday!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Finally, The Last TV Sample!!!

Good morning. It's challenge time over at Polka Doodles and this week we want to see your celebration cards. I've picked Christmas as my celebration. The main reason for this is that the time bandit has been back in town stealing hours, so I simply ran out of time to create anything and as I'd not shown you my final TV sample I thought I'd cheat a little! :D

Sooooo this is it! My final TV sample using the Here Comes Christmas CD. This time it's a stepper card with multiple images.

I created a simple stepper base from card and then ripped strips of card to create the snow drifts. These were layered up using pop dots. The log cabin is simply paper coloured with Promarkers to give a wood grain effect, which has been torn into strips and then edged with Distress Ink

I've taken the images from the CD and coloured them with Promarkers before cutting out and inserting into the scene. To finish I've chucked on loads of Stickles, Glamour Dust and Glossy Accents.

The bauble garland has been cut from one of the papers from the CD - ever start a job then wish you hadn't?? Well that was one of them! If I ever do a remake of this, it will be a cheats garland!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fab weekend.

Kraft Gift Bag

So did you see the new Here Comes Christmas CD launch on Create & Craft at the weekend? What did you think? I have to say I loved this CD the minute I saw it, so many characters and in excess of 500 papers (yes you are reading correctly 500 papers!!!). My only problem was what to make first! However, as the turnaround time was again fairly tight I decided to stick to fairly quick and easy makes like this bag.

This is a plain old Kraft bag that I picked up in The Range for 50p. I've simply printed out papers and images from the CD to decorate it with. The scalloped border has been free-hand cut - expect to see more of this from me as I love the primitive look it gives. I've got a couple more of these that I'm going to alter and I'm really hoping that I can find a few more as they are really strong and fairly big. However, I suspect that I will be out of luck as I purchased them sometime ago!

Materials:
Kraft Bag
Here Comes Christmas CD
Distress Inks
Fiskars Lace Border Punch
Memorybox Round Buttons Die
Spellbinders Poinsettia Die
Glossy Accents
Soft Stuff
Stickles
White Gel Pen
Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today.
