It's Supposed To Be Green, But Mine Is Pink!!

Good morning to you all. Today's challenge over at Delicious Doodles is to use green. It was designed to coincide with St Patrick's day, but as I don't have anyone to send a card to, I thought it would be a bit of a waste of card and paper. So rather than sit the challenge out, I decided that I'd make a card with some green on it :)

I've used Sweet Shamrock Fairy for my card and have shamelessly nicked the lovely Pascale's inspired idea of colouring the shamrocks a different colour, which means that I can use this beauty all year round!! I decided to paper piece the dress using some papers from My Minds Eye and have coloured the rest of the image with Promarkers. The flowers and wings have been given a coat of Stickles.I've then added some Glossy Accents to her eyes, lips and the flowers in her hair.

The card base has been cut using Large Circle Nestabilities. It's then been inked with Distress Inks and sprayed with Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. The flowers have been punched using Nellie Snellen punches and the butterflies are from a Martha Stewart 3 in 1 Butterfly Punch. I've then added some hot pink gems to finish.

Crafty Place ATC Swap

The theme of this months ATC swap over on the Crafty Place was "Feathers". My swap partner was the lovely Debbie (aka Padster) who's gorgeous makes I've already blogged. Here's the ATC and card I sent in return.

The background has been created with distress inks. The bird has been stamped directly onto the ATC. I've then masked the bird and stamped and heat embossed the cow parsley heads. The bird has then been painted with distress inks and the wing tips given a brushing of Perfect Pearls.

This card uses the free stamp that came with this months Craft Stamper magazine. I've stamped it onto white card using Vintage Sepia Versamark Ink. The flower has then been coloured with Spiced Marmalade distress ink and then triple embossed to give it a glass effect. The centre of the flower has been filled with Glossy Accents and micro glass beads. The flower has been mounted onto a black/gold metallic paper.

It's Only Rock n Roll 40th Birthday Card!

It's my friend's husbands 40th Birthday at the weekend. As he plays in a band I thought that this card would be appropriate. I have to say a huge thank you to the lovely Karen (aka Flourgirl) for this image and for helping my missing mojo to return. She made a fantastic card last week which sparked my imagination and led to a nice few hours crafting.

I made the card base using basic black cardstock and layered embossed silver paper onto it. I printed the words directly onto the Prima Papers and have used Glossy Accents to add dimension. I've also used glossy accents on the word stars, glasses, guitar and shoes - hopefully you can see that clearly from my third picture.The guitar lead is made from embroidery thread coloured with Promarkers.
