Just thought I'd pop on to show what I've been upto today. That's right I've spent the day playing at The Craft Barn with the uber talented Liz Welch (the nicest lady I've met - ever!!) learning how to use Friendly Plastic. I have had a ball and will definitely be using it for future projects, now I'm not scared of it!!!
Anyway, these are the techniques I learnt and some samples that I managed to make - what do you think?
These are my favourite pieces
I haven't decided if I should make a necklace or brooch from this piece, but it's my favourite. Followed very closely by these:
I love these fragments, have an idea to try and incorporate them into some of my work and if goes to plan then there will definitely be more made!
Definitely going to use this button on a project and will be making more of them as they were really simple once I'd grasped the technique.
Finally the 3D heart -which is waiting for me put a silver pin through it to be turned into a necklace. I've photographed it on black card to try and get a clearer shot of all the gorgeous colours, but it's failed miserably :(
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope I haven't bored you!

Love your friendly plastic samples, Claire - think my favourite is the first one (the square), love all the texture. Must get mine out to play with again - don't know about you, but I have so much stuff, I forget just what I do have! Lol. Hugz, Jan xx
ReplyDeleteI've never played with friendly plastic - don't even really know what it is!! The green mosaic pieces are amazing - they captured my attention right away though having said that, it all did! ;p
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fun day!
I really enjoyed Liz's demonstrations and you've certainly got the knack for it. I just love the oozing technique, especially the last piece. Well done.
ReplyDeleteLove the pieces you have made Claire.xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's all fabulous! I love the shimmery effect of friendly plastic, but have never tried it myself. How fantastic to have pieces of great jewellery that you have made yourself.
ReplyDeleteWow Claire, these all look gorgeous and can see you had a really lovely day.
ReplyDeleteLooks like i might have to dig out my friendly plastic now as it's been ages since I last had a play with it.
Hugs, Fliss xx
Hi Claire
ReplyDeleteWow, these look amazing!! I have never heard of friendly plastic before.
Unfortunately though, as these items are not made with paper, they are not eligible to enter in to the Make It Monday linky party.
But it was fun coming to visit you and see them.
Kind regards
Michelle :o)
